This indigo indigo saddle rug is ingeniously woven in two directions form from the centre. A practice known amongst saddle covers to facilitate smooth use and deflecting the weather and friction. The region Baotou -Suiyan is east of Beijing and is responsive to the Inner Mongolian market for which this was probably intended. There is a patch which has been expertly repaired and practically invisible otherwise the saddle rug is in excellent condition.
